The Principal
Nastassja Potgieter was born and raised in Durban where she was involved in all
facets of drama from an early age. She left high school with the knowledge that the dramatic arts was her chosen path. Nastassja went on
to study her ND: Drama at DUT and as a result of her passion for the arts and
commitment went on to be
awarded Cum Laude in her final year. Nastassja decided to complete her BTECH: Drama in Pretoria at
TUT. She was involved in many productions throughout her school and tertiary career
as well as being part of professional shows. Nastassja’s love for the arts and
the effect it has on individuals led her to working for Helen O’ Grady in Johannesburg and she then went on
to work for the branch in Durban. She
had been working for the Academy in Cape Town for a number of years,
particularly servicing the West Coast region so many of the children already
know her. Nastassja’s love for study and
education led her to complete her PGCE, awarded with Cum Laude, which ties in very well with her new
role as Principal. Because she truly believes in the power of our programme when she received an opportunity to head up this branch, Nastassja jumped at the chance! She looks forward to the exciting times ahead.
