Poised perfection was the order of the day starting with our Lower Primary group which performed "The Emperor and the Nightingale". These students portrayed their characters and delivered the message of the play with fantastic energy and a polished manner. You can see the students really enjoyed their performance and showed us all what wonderful performance and communication skills they have gained!
The Upper Primary group was next with their Circus themed play called "Circus Capers" and boy did this Circus have problems! From "Drama Queen Dixie" to the lazy Ringmaster and a lion on the loose, all the characters were dynamic making for a highly entertaining, fast paced piece of theatre! These students really impressed the audience with their slick performance skills and made the Academy extremely proud! Bravo!!
A pantomime "Cinderella in Africa" was the last play on display and what a way to end the show! We could not have asked for a better finale. Really UGLY stepsisters, VOGUE models, an incompetent trainee Fairy Godmother and loadshedding made for many a hilarious blunder. What these youth theatre students put forward was nothing less than brilliance. The poise, finesse and general professionlism that these youngsters showed was truly remarkable!
The technique of Pantomime as well as the characterisation by all the students was superbly demonstrated by this talented bunch! We are so so very proud of them all and cannot wait for next year!
